Howard College San Angelo Secures Funding to Renovate Space at West Texas Training Center for
Enhanced Health Professions Programs

San Angelo, Texas — Howard College San Angelo (HCSA) has secured multiple grants and community
contributions to renovate approximately 12,000 square feet of space at the West Texas Training Center (WTTC),
significantly upgrading its Health Professions training capabilities.

Funding for the renovation project has been provided through generous support from the San Angelo Health
Foundation, the Art and Eva Tucker Foundation, Shannon Medical Center, and an anonymous donor. These
combined investments will allow Howard College San Angelo to transform the space at the WTTC into state-of-the-art instructional and clinical training environments.

The renovation will create several specialized learning spaces designed to support hands-on healthcare education,
including a new Simulation lab, Skills lab, Radiology lab, Respiratory Care classroom and lab, and a Surgical
Technology classroom and lab. The upgraded facilities will enhance the college’s ability to prepare students for
high-demand careers in healthcare while strengthening the region’s workforce pipeline.

“Renovating open space at the WTTC to accommodate all HCSA health professions programs is a crucial step in
meeting the critical demand for trained healthcare providers in Texas,” stated Lanna Hubbard, Dean of Instruction
at HCSA. As healthcare needs continue to grow and diversify, it is imperative that educational institutions like
Howard College are equipped with modern technology and equipment to provide students with the relevant skills
and knowledge essential to meet nationwide healthcare needs.

“By consolidating and expanding health professions programs within the West Texas Training Center, HCSA will
provide students with access to modern technology, advanced simulation training, and collaborative learning
spaces that mirror real-world healthcare environments” said Pam Callan, Provost of HCSA.

This project represents a continued commitment to workforce development and improved healthcare access
across West Texas. The enhanced facilities will allow HCSA to ensure graduates are prepared to serve hospitals,
clinics, and healthcare systems throughout the region.

Renovation is expected to begin by May.
