The Registered Nursing (RN) program is a two year Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program that offers college credit. The second year of the program, is online for the lecture portion of the class. Students are prepared for upward mobility in a nursing career. The program is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The associate degree nursing program at Howard College, 1001 Birdwell Lane in Big Spring, TX, is accredited by the: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400 Atlanta, GA 30326.  Phone # (404) 975-5000 https://www.acenursing.org/. The most recent accreditation decision made by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the associate degree nursing program is Continuing Accreditation. Upon completion, students will make application to take the National Council Licensure Exam to become a Registered Nurse. Many of our ADN students take advantage of our articulation agreements with Texas Universities to go on and earn their BSN degree.
