Continuing Education

Continuing Education provides the opportunity for the surrounding community to take classes for personal, social, physical and professional needs.  Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded for the successful completion of courses.  Ten hours of instruction earns one CEU.  Generally, there are no entrance requirements or examinations and classes are offered to students of all ages.  Instructors are not only educators from Howard College, but women and men from business, government, and other fields in the community.  Community members who are interested in pursuing a new interest or teaching a class are encouraged to call the Workforce Training office at (325) 481-8300 ext. 224.

Customized classes can be organized to meet projected needs of business, community, cultural, and special interest groups. The staff has the knowledge and skills to analyze and determine the workforce training required by a business or industry and to design and implement instructional programs to meet the needs of the customer. Technical, management, basic skills training, and other customized classes are available. Computer classes may be offered at either the customer's site or on campus. Computer classes may also be delivered on a short-term, accelerated basis to meet the demands of the industry served.
