| The Howard College Computer-Aided Drafting Technology Program emphasizes computerized drafting skills, ensuring that students master these important building blocks thoroughly. Graduates will pursue job opportunities in manufacturing industries, architectural design and building industries, public utilities, national, state and local government agencies. The drafting graduate will be able to create and modify working drawings, on computer systems, from information provided by engineers or architects. | |

| Drafters, particularly those with post-secondary technical education, are in
demand in a wide variety of fields, including electronics manufacturing,
architectural design and construction, aerospace engineering, government, public
utilities and communications. Other opportunities include areas such as
technical sales and supervision. The future will also hold new opportunities in
the use of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD). CAD has been one of the most
significant engineering developments to occur in recent times and continues to
bring about dramatic changes in our technical world. Graduates of this program
may secure such specific positions as detailer, drafter, CAD operator and
others.
