Scholarship Information

The following is a partial list of scholarships available for Howard College students. It is the student's responsibility to obtain, complete, and submit applications by the appropriate deadline. Use the San Angelo Application for Scholarship to apply for all scholarships listed with the exception of those indicated with an asterisk (*). Some scholarships may also require an additional application. For more information contact Stephanie Harris (325) 481-8300 ext. 324 in the Financial Aid Office at the West Texas Training Center, Room 106.

• *MARILYN CRADDOCK SCHOLARSHIP
  National competition to be awarded to Medical Transcription students sponsored by the American Association for Medical Transcriptionists (AAMT). Contact the Health Information Technology Program Director on the Howard College-San Angelo campus for an application and additional information.



• CONCHO VALLEY SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
  Each year the Concho Valley Society for Human Resource Management (CVSHRM)
  awards a scholarship for which HCSA business students are eligible.



• FORE SCHOLARSHIP
  National competition to be awarded to Health Information Technology and Administration students sponsored by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Contact the Health Information Technology Program Director on the Howard College-San Angelo campus for an application and additional information.



• FRANK JUNELL HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIP (Deadline: July 10)
  The Frank Junell Allied Health Scholarship is a merit scholarship awarded to a full-time student enrolled in a Health Professions Program (Vocational Nursing, Health Information Technology, Respiratory Care Technology, Radiologic Technology, Emergency Medical Service, or Surgical Technology).  Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.



• ANN MADDOX MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
  Awarded to Howard College San Angelo Campus Health Information Technology students by Concho Valley Health Information Management Association (CVHIMA). Please contact the Program Director of Health Information Technology on the Howard College San Angelo campus for application and additional information.



• GOODFELLOW OFFICERS' SPOUSES' CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
  GOSC is available to spouses of active duty military and dependents. 
  


• HOWARD COLLEGE/SWCID DIPLOMATS
  Given to selected students based on interview and participation in academic and extra-curricular activities.



• TEXAS HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
  Statewide competition to be awarded to one Health Information Technology and one Health Information Administration student within the State of Texas sponsored by the Texas Health Information Management Association (TxHIMA). Contact the Health Information Technology Program Director on the Howard College-San Angelo campus for an application and additional information.



• WOLSLAGER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
  The Wolslager Foundation scholarship is awarded to a full-time student at Howard College attending the San Angelo campus. Student must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to students graduating from a high school within Tom Green, Concho, Irion, Sterling, Runnels, Brown, McCulloch, Coke, Mills, Crockett, and Schleicher counties.



• PHI THETA KAPPA SCHOLARSHIP
  One or more Phi Theta Kappa scholarships will be awarded each year. Eligible students must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Application forms and instructions are provided and submission deadlines are announced at the beginning of each application period.



• HOWARD COLLEGE SAN ANGELO DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS
  Several departments at HCSA offer scholarships to students studying within those departments.
