Radiologic technologists take x-rays and administer non-radioactive materials into patients' bloodstreams for diagnostic purposes. They produce x-ray films (radiographs) of parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems. The Radiologic Technology Program at HCSA is a two-year program leading to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Upon successful completion of the program, students may make application to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) to take a certification exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, students may apply for a license from The Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program through the Texas Department of State Health Services. |
