Literary Criticism

The following sequence of procedures have been found to be the most efficient at finding literary criticism by the staff of the Howard College Libraries. You may, of course stop at any step once you have found sufficient resources.

Step
Procedure
1 or 2
If  you are using a Howard College campus computer, go to Literature Resource Center.

If you are off campus, go to TexShare Database Remote Access and enter the user name and password. User names and passwords are available at the Howard College library.  Go to Literature & Criticism. Go to Literature Resource Center.

Once in Literature Resource Center, you may search by the author (default) or by the title of the work you are looking for. Use the tabs on top to select literary criticism.
2 or 1
If you are in the library, go to the online catalog which is a circle with the number 5 on the desktop. Search by subject using the author's name (last, first).

If you are outside of the library, go to the union online catalog. Go to set locations and leave the collections you want to search checked and uncheck the collections you do not want to search. Search by subject using the author's name (last, first).

3
Go to Literary Index and using the author or title, find what sources are available for your work. Print this page and bring it to the Howard College Big Spring Library which has  Contemporary Literary Criticism, Twentieth Century Literary Criticism, and Short Story Criticism. Using the volume and page information provided, look up the information on your story.
