Mina has many years experience as a Library Specialist.    When asked what her favorite part of the job is she will say, "The people here are the reason I enjoy my job.  My co-workers and the students are wonderful!"  In her spare time Mina enjoys shopping, reading, gardening, music, the arts and a good cup of coffee, and mostly being with  her daughters, Stacy Lynn,  Julie and her adorable grandbaby Julian Andrew.

Ms. Benavides is the Advisor for The Mexican-American Student Association and has strong connections with the students at Howard College, Big Spring campus.  She is well connected to a variety of community organizations, particularly in the fields of cultural diversity committees and her main goals is  to encourage more local students to prepare for and enroll in college.
