• Electronic Services for TexShare Members, this collection of databases is accessible only from Howard College computers. Included are:
  • EBSCO, includes 25 databases covering all subjects, most include full-text articles.
  • GaleNet/Infotrac, includes articles on literary criticism and health related issues.
• FirstSearch (authorization and password required), this site includes WorldCat, an index of all 44 million cataloged books, Wilson Select for searching full-text periodical articles, NYT for the last 90 days of full-text articles in the New York Times, and full-text entries from the World Book Encyclopedia. • GaleNet/Infotrac, includes 16 databases, most include full-text articles.

• FindArticles@LookSmart.com, search and read 3.5 million articles from over 700 publications.
• MagPortal.com, a company that specializes in applying novel research and ideas to software and internet services development.
• EJournal Search Page, provides a search engine for 15 current and five non-current scholarly journals from Virginia Tech.

• National Archeological Database, contains about 350,000 reports on archeological investigation and planning, mainly of limited circulation

• iVillage, from Hearst Corporation, searches several arts and crafts magazines, some full-text articles.

• Biography & Genealogy Master Index, indexes more than 13.3 million biographical sketches; access limited to Howard College campus computers
