Community Service Resources
Cosmetology Students / Aid

Cosmetology is a clock hour program, and therefore is not awarded the same as academic courses.
The Pell-Grant (if you qualify) will be awarded in three equal disbursements. The first will be at your
initial enrollment. The following disbursements will be awarded once you reach 500 hours, and 1000 hours.

Understanding Your Award Letter

Once your financial aid is complete, you will be awarded and receive an award letter in the mail. If you qualify for the Pell Grant, the amount shown on the award letter is based on full-time enrollment. If you chose not to enroll in full time, your Pell will be adjusted based on the number of hours you enroll in.

If there is a loan awarded on your letter, this is the amount that you qualify to borrow. You do not have to borrow this amount if you chose not to. You can borrow less, or none at all. All loans must be applied for by going to http://www.direct.ed.gov External Link
