The Office Systems Technology Certificate Level I program prepares you for a position as an office administration assistant, office supervisor or manager, or receptionist and information clerk. Coursework includes classes in office administration, office technology and communication skills.  This program teaches you about the inner workings of an office. You will learn everything about how an office runs, including administrative tasks, personnel management, accounting, etc. Emphasis will be placed on the use of office technology such as computer programs and the Internet. Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared for either a managerial role or an administrative assistant role in many different office environments. According to the BLS, the demand for office supervisors and managers is expected to grow more slowly than the national average until the year 2014. The demand for office administrative assistants is also expected to grow more slowly than the national average, and the demand for receptionists and information clerks is expected to grow faster than the national average.
