An Certificate in Cosmetology will provide you with training in all of the latest technology in hair styling, skin care, nail care and makeup.learning cosmetology

Entering the field of cosmetology these days does require some training before jumping into the job. A Cosmetology Certificate provides some basic skills that a student can use as a starting point to enter a career as a hair stylist, makeup artist, or a skin and nail specialist. Once a student receives a Cosmetology Certificate, there are places a student can find employment beyond a salon, too. For example, a graduate can enter a career applying make up for the stage or screen. Finally, this program teaches enough business skills that a graduate could set up his or her own salon and run a business. While there are those who enter the field of cosmetology without a degree or certificate, those who earn one are better prepared for the work required.

Careers

Once a student has successfully completed the required courses for a Cosmetology Certificate, he or she is prepared to style hair, apply makeup, style nails and operate a salon. These skills can lead to careers and jobs including:

  • Hair Styling
  • Nail Care
  • Skin Care
  • Business Skills
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Makeup Application
  • Critical Thinking Skills
  • Hair Coloring
  • Chemistry and Chemical Handling
  • Hair-Cutting

Note: A criminal background clearance is required before acceptance into any cosmetology program.
