What Is a Correctional Science Associate Degree?

A Criminal Justice degree with a focus on correctional science prepares students for a challenging career in corrections law enforcement. Graduates with an AAS degree in Criminal Justice - Correctional Science can usually use their degree to obtain an immediate position in the field, although some graduates go on to pursue bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice or a related subject in order to be qualified for more advanced positions.

Skills Obtained

Student pursuing an AAS degree in Correctional Science must obtain specific skills before being eligible for graduation. In addition to becoming familiar with basic corrections principles, students will also acquire these skills:
