This area has 13 machines, each designed to exercise a different muscle or group of muscles. Between each machine is a low-impact station designed to keep the heart in an aerobic state between exercises. A voice tape provides the cue for the user to move to the next station. Thirty seconds is spent at each station and 15 seconds is allowed between stations. The goal of the Super Circuit is to put the heart in an aerobic state and maintain that for the duration of the circuit, which is approximately 20 minutes. The Super Circuit program is designed to be used three (3) times per week resulting in a more efficient cardiovascular system, better muscle tone, and an improved level of fitness. With a proper program of diet and exercise, members see a significant improvement.
Rules for the Super Circuit Room:
- All members are asked to wear suitable workout clothing. Cut-off jeans and any type of denim are prohibited. Apparel with zippers and brads are especially bad for machine covers.
- All members are required to use a towel to protect the upholstery from tears and provide some protection from germs and perspiration others may leave on the machines when finished.
- People using the circuit have the right-of-way. No one may stay on one machine unless no one else is working the circuit. If many people are using the circuit, the free-weight room has the facilities to allow members to work out specific muscles.
