Howard College's Cosmetology Program is a 1,500 clock-hour program under the authority of the Texas Cosmetology Commission.  A licensed cosmetologist is qualified to cut, curl, comb, relax, color, clean, and condition hair; sculpt and manicure nails; and give facials and pedicures.  The program consists of six enrollment periods - each one lasting eight weeks; attending full time, this program can be completed in approximately 11 months.  Upon completion, students will be awarded a Level 1 Certificate.  Students desiring an Associate Degree along with their Cosmetology Certificate will need to complete eight college-credit courses in addition to the 1,500 clock-hour program.
