Three semester hours (3-1)
This is an introductory course designed to serve as a foundation for the study of advanced accounting and to furnish a knowledge of accounting that will be of value to students in other fields. The subject matter includes analysis and recording of business transactions; use of journals and ledgers, including special journals and ledgers; trial balance and worksheet; adjusting and closing entries; accounting statements; receivables, payables and inventories; deferrals, accruals, and depreciation of plant assets; systems for control and payroll; and accounting concepts. A study of accounting for merchandising, notes payable, notes receivable, valuation of receivables and equipment, and valuation of inventories in a manual and computerized environment. Prerequisite: ACNT 1303.
ACNT 1313 Computerized Accounting Applications

A study of utilizing the computer to develop and maintain accounting record keeping systems, make management decisions, and process common business applications with emphasis on utilizing a spreadsheet and/or data base package/program.
