Emergency Medical Technician / Intermediate

This course is actually the first level of the Paramedic program. At the intermediate level you will learn advanced physiology, patient assessment, techniques of I.V. therapy, and advanced respiratory care management.

Clinical rotations and field internship include hospital emergency room hours and ambulance hours as well as clinical hours spent in surgery and field trip opportunities.

Prerequisite:

EMSP 1501 and EMSP 1160 (Basic EMT)

Once you have completed all required courses for EMT/I, you may choose either to take the state certification course for EMT/Intermediate or just continue with your Paramedic training.

EMSP 1356 Patient Assessment/Airway Management

EMSP 1355 Trauma Managment

EMSP 1161 Paramedic Clinical - 80 clock hours (Emergency Rm.)

EMSP 1162 Paramedic Clinical - 80 clock hours (Ambulance)
